X FACTOR bosses are plotting to make this year’s series an all-out war between the judges.
A promo advert for the ITV show with a brutal army theme has been commissioned.
The big-budget campaign will see judges Cheryl Cole, Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Mel B pitted against each other. Producers are convinced having the panel at war will make great telly and keep viewers hooked.
A show insider said: “Bosses want the judges to be at each other’s throats. They know that’s what viewers want.”
A top-secret document leaked to the Daily Star Sunday outlines ITV’s campaign.
It will carry the tag line: “Simon and Cheryl are back with the ultimate judging panel and this time they mean business.”
The ad will begin with Louis, emerging from an army of wannabe singers.
But moments later his competition will appear in the form of sexy new judge Mel B, who will shoot him an “icy stare”.
The sound of high heels then signals the long-awaited return of Cheryl to the show.
The Girls Aloud beauty, will have her own army and declare: “Guess who’s back!”
Show boss Simon Cowell will then march out with the biggest army of any panellist “stealing Cheryl’s thunder”, according to our insider. Simon, will warn the others: “Time to get down to business.”
The four rival armies charge towards each other, creating the show’s landmark “X” as the advert climaxes.
In the promo document bosses demanded the ad was “stylish, epic” and shot with “beauty and flair”.
The judges will all be “sharply dressed, cool, elegant, confident, immaculate” as they go to war ahead of the new series which hits screens next month.
Our source said: “The advert is very slick and polished. But most importantly it’s going to show just how ruthless the new series will be.
“All four of the judges are out to win. This is an indication of how brutal it’s going to be on the panel.”
The advert soundtrack will be Lethal Bizzle track Drop and R3hab hit Revolution.
